Joshua tree national park is host to many Monzogranite slopes in the biomes between its borders. The area around skull rock is just into the Little San Bernardino Mountains and has many curvacious inclinations not privy to other regions.
The elevation in the surrounding location is approximately 4000 feet, but changes constantly with the valleys and inclines. This unique environment provides habitat for many species of plants including Yucca Sidigera / Mojave Yucca, Juniperus Californica/ California Juniper, Pinus Monophylla / Single Leaf Pinyon, Echinocereus Engelmanii / Englemans Hedgehog and Yucca Brevifolia / Joshua Tree.
Monzogranite is considered an Igneous rock. In geology, rocks are generally classified into three groups, Igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic. Igneous rocks are formed in connection with processes of magma melting and cooling.
